Main St. Pizza Company
The Main Street Pizza Company now has a few years in operation under its belt, and by now, most all of Kingsport’s residents out and about downtown well know our magnificent thirty feet of oak & quartz bar at our historic location across from the new Centennial Park, our fresh and seasonal dishes and drinks, and our staple bar manager, Michelle Rogers. Michelle’s been working a consistent five nights a week for nearly three years at Main Street. Her experience in the area has taken her throughRichmond, Philadelphia, and Birmingham. but Michelle’s a Kingsport native who’s happy to have found her way back home.
Michelle’s been a significant contribution to what we hope has been a warm environment for our guests in Kingsport. She’s been actively responsible for maintaining that fine selection of craft beers that are always in demand, and even in a pizza joint, she’s pouring up the best fresh-squeezed margarita in town. Michelle’s been using our fine selection of unique ingredients to mix up customer favorites on and off our ever rotating house cocktail menu that keep folks coming back, including some of our loyal fans lovingly referred to as the Cosmo Queens. Michelle’s always there during our hot happy hour specials when you need a quick refreshment after a long day at work, and she’s there on our Tuesday nights $2 pint special for a quick catch up with the other locals. She’s there on Friday nights when it’s time for a special night with your closest folks, there for an apertivo before your dinner plans, or there for a nightcap with your dessert.
We’ve asked Michelle to share with us just what cocktail best sums up her personal style behind the bar; after the time we’ve worked together, we know this one is a good fit for that bold palate of hers. If you’ve seen her in action on a high volume shift, you know her work ethic is super- charged, and this Smoke on the Square cocktail certainly packs a punch. A great way to warm the soul on a cold winter day, this is simple house twist on the 1930s New Orleans classic cocktail, the Vieux Carré, and we’ve updated the standard cognac in the recipe for a smokey addition of silver mezcal. The production and presentation of this cocktail is just a simple stir for just the right dilution of the spirits.
