Franny’s Farmacy

Franny’s Farmacy of Johnson City is a family business owned and operated by The Parrotts. It is a retail store that offers a full line of CBD and other hemp products including tinctures, hemp flowers, topicals, massage oils, soaps, healing lotion, slaves and much more. They even carry products for dogs and cats. However, there is one very important thing that makes their store unique. Franny’s Farmacy truly is a “seed to shelf” operation. They actually control every aspect—planting, growing, harvesting, drying, processing, manufacturing, packaging—from beginning to end. Therefore customers can have total confidence that they are using a safe, healthy and beneficial product. The store even has a “grow room” with live hemp plants in various stages of growth. Since the majority of the public has never seen a hemp plant, this provides an unusual experience and a great educational opportunity for those wanting to learn about this amazing plant.
The thought process for the business actually began in early October, 2018. A family member had his marriage celebration in Western North Carolina. One of the celebration activities was Goat Yoga at Franny’s Farm. That was the introduction of Franny Tacy to their family. Hearing about Franny’s involvement in the hemp industry spurred their own thinking about hemp and all the good it does, and can do, for mankind. They decided to make an

appointment to meet with Jeff and Franny Tacyv to learn more about their involvement in the hemp business, and how they might piggy-back, so to speak, on what they are doing. Thus, the genesis of their quest into the world of hemp began in the early days of October, 2018. Preliminary planning began after the initial meeting with the Tacys and their legal entity was born on January 2, 2019.

As several family members began researching cannabis, hemp and CBD, they were all amazed about this extraordinary, naturally-occurring plant. Hemp, in general, has over 25,000 known uses. But, their focus has primarily been on its health and medical benefits. While hemp has been used for centuries for medical and health purposes, only in the last 20 to 25 years has medical science begun to underst

and how the various derivatives of the cannabis plant work within the human body to produce health benefits for individuals. While they could easily extol the virtues of the “entourage” effects of the whole plant, they mostly focus on the importance of CBD. Why? Because, as Dr. Michael Moskowitz, MD, said, the properties of CBD are effective for “anti-cancer, anti-proliferative, anti-emetic (nausea and vomiting), anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-diabetic, anti-psoriatic, anti-diarrheal, analgesic, bone stimulant, immunosuppressive, anti-ischemic, antispasmodic, vasorelaxant, cardio-protective, neuroprotective, anti-epileptic, antipsychotic, anxiolytic, and weight-loss promoting.” As they understood more and more about the benefits of CBD in general, they knew they had to get directly involved. The realization that they could actually provide products that, in many cases, help people live healthier lives with less pain and discomfort and give them the ability to function effectively in their daily lives was what motivated them to begin their business ventures into this exciting world of CBD.

In a nutshell, their mission statement is family unity in an effort to provide the opportunity for better health and quality of life for those they love, know and care about, and even beyond that small circle of people to those throughout the State, region, entire country and beyond. Their entire family group consists of 15 individuals, and is still growing. Most all are involved, directly or indirectly, in this business. Those who are local are more involved in the day-to-day operations and are the “face” of the business, but others are working behind the scenes to assist however they can to assure our efforts are successful in accomplishing our objectives. The Parrotts want to educate the general public about the many benefits of CBD and provide them with a myriad of products that have the potential to benefit them in their quest for a healthier, higher quality of life.
Whether you’re just looking to be educated or if you’re interested in trying CBD or other Hemp Products, Franny’s Farmacy of Johnson City is the place to go. Their budtenders are professionals. Their knowledge, their passion, their desire to educate and help people set them apart from so many in this business. They truly strive to have their concern and desire to care for people to permeate the store’s atmosphere.
