Summer has officially begun and the Fourth of July is just around the corner. What else can make one nostalgic but the smell of fried funnel cakes and crisp corn dogs, the brilliant blast of fireworks, the sight of craft vendors lined up Main Street in downtown Jonesborough and the sounds of the David Crockett High School marching band coming down the street.
Kicking off everyone’s favorite Jonesborough Days Festival is the patriotic parade, set to march down Boone and Main Streets in downtown Jonesborough on Thursday, July 4th at 10am. The Jonesborough Days Festival Committee is seeking floats and entries decorated in their best red, white and blue and playing everyone’s favorite patriotic music.
The cost for registration is $25 for regular entries and $50 for political and commercial entries. Interested parties are welcome to apply online at jonesboroughtn.org. Along with your entry fee, donations are being accepted for the Jonesborough Food Pantry. The food pantry helps provide food for families in need in our community. Please bring your non-perishable food items to Jonesborough Town Hall between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
