The Loafer’s bartender of the week is Phillip Leroy-Beaulieu. Phillip is of French/Costa Rican descent and was born in the United States. He is the lead bartender and trainer at Southern Craft BBQ in Johnson City, TN. He has also worked at The Label and several other restaurants in the area. He has been a bartender for 13 years, citing that he originally became a bartender because it brings in more money than serving. However, he has come to really enjoy the freedom and creativity that he is allowed as a bartender. He believes that a good bartender must have great people skills and personality, as well as the knowledge it takes to be behind the bar.
Phillip has had several cocktails featured in magazines. His “butternut squash old-fashioned” is his favorite drink and most asked after drink by his clientele, but he has created 100s of drinks over the years. To try out one of his popular drinks for yourself, visit Southern Craft BBQ and ask for Phillip!
