Elena Corradino – Bio
I am a visual artist based in Johnson City, Tennessee. I spend most of my time running my online art business and teaching local workshops on abstract art. You can also catch me at many of the markers fairs in the area, as well as live painting during music events.
Elena Corradino – Artist Statement
The main style I work with is abstract.
I use many different mediums to create my pieces. Acrylic paint, alcohol inks, resin.. you name it –
I am probably using it. I love playing with layers, depth, contrast and bold colors. I find inspiration in every waking moment, leading me to create constantly and intuitively. Each piece tells it’s own story and some stories are only revealed to me as I move through my vision. Each day is a new creative process, in which I get to share my visions with the world.
Kat Thrower – Bio
Born and raised locally here in the tricities. I moved to johnson city to peruse my education at ETSU; where I graduated with a BFA concentrating in sculpture and painting. Since graduating in 2011 I have worked in the beauty industry while also focusing on my art. I have been with MAC cosmetics as a freelance artist since 2011 and currently am additionally employed by Estée Lauder as a beauty advisor. I opened my own business in 2014 for my artwork. I’m always proud of my relationships with things I love. To be able to say that my job with mac has been going strong for 8 years now, my pup who is now 11 and I’ve had the same car for 13 years. I have been debating on going back to school for MFA in Art Therapy and possibly moving. Time will tell what is to come! I’m so open to what the universe has for me and am so excited about the future!
Kat Thrower – Artist Statement
Just as you begin to notice the swirls created by your melting childhood sundae someone says, “stop playing with your food!” But for that moment the organic nature of fluidity captures you with its beauty. That’s the moment you yourself were becoming an artist. For that moment you were absorbed by a natural form and you wanting to swirl in it was your curiosity towards creativity.
My creativity is made organically by inspiration through a vast array of odd materials, aesthetically pleasing forms and raw translations of emotion. The majority of my work is custom made to order for my clients. This collection is a reflection of me as an evolving artist who is fascinated by all. Please ask the gallery about the custom piece you’ve been dying to have created!
