Senior Services Offers Classes On Mind, Body, Spirit Connection
Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., invites those 18 and older to join Dr. J. Catherine Herbert in a free six-session course aimed at changing participants’ mindsets and improving their lives.
Herbert will teach participants about Chakra energy, which employs healing techniques to bring the body’s energy into balance.
Participants also will learn de-stressing techniques. Alternative healthcare will be discussed.
Sessions will be held 1-2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 10, 24, Oct. 8, 22 and Nov. 12, 26. Please register in person at MPCC or by calling 423-434-6237.
Senior Services Offers Film Series: A Social Focus
Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., will hold a free, five-session series hosted by Dr. J. Catherine Herbert.
Attendees will watch movies and engage in discussions about how the movies have transformed our culture. The series will be begin with movies made in the pre-Code era, the period in American film between the adoption of sound in pictures in 1929 and the enforcement of the Motion Picture Production Code censorship guidelines.
Sessions will be held 1-4 p.m. on Thursdays Sept 12, 26, Oct. 10, 24, and Nov. 14.
Ages 18 and older are welcome.
