On November 8, 2019, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport and the Tri-Cities Military Affairs Council (TC-MAC) host their 7th Annual “Honoring Our Heroes” dinner at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Kingsport and will recognize regional heroes of the past, present and future.
This year’s honorees include active and retired military personnel, police officers, first responders (police, fire, EMS), education and medical professionals, and Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport members.
Tickets are $45, include dinner and can be purchased online at https://www.kbgc.org/honoring-our-heroes or by calling Tina Pasquale at 423-230-4160 x232.
“It is important that we take time to highlight the fundamental qualities of a hero like determination, dedication to community and integrity. Each of these honorees demonstrate these qualities in living by the adage, ‘service to humanity is the best work of life,’” said Ernie Rumsby, TC-MAC president.
This year’s keynote speaker is Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Ron Hite. LTG Hite served in the United States Army for 33 years. Lynda Fontaine from 98.5 WTFM will be master of ceremonies for the event.
“Today more than ever it’s important that youth see true everyday heroes. These honorees are role models with honor and serve something larger than themselves,” said Lisa Beilharz, Boys & Girls Club president and CEO.
In keeping with Honoring Our Heroes tradition, all honorees are served steak dinners as patrons enjoy gourmet burgers. Texas Roadhouse-Kingsport, will donate meals for the event.
