Knoxville Opera performing “Heavenly Opera”

The Cathedral Concert Series is proud to present Knoxville Opera performing HEAVENLY OPERA, an inspiring concert of operatic prayers. The program includes familiar arias and scenes from Faust, Lohengrin, and Verdi’s Otello along with rarities from Wagner’s Rienzi, Rossini’s Otello, Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, Bellini’s Beatrice di Tenda, Massenet’s Le Cid, Puccini’s Le Villi, and Verdi’s Nabucco and Stiffelio.

The soloists, accompanied by Knoxville Opera Artistic Director Brian Salesky, are led by soprano Brittany Renee, who appeared at The Met last season in Porgy and Bess. Joining Ms. Renee will be mezzosoprano Aubrey Odle, tenor Aaron Short, and baritone Scott Bearden. All four artists have appeared in leading roles with Knoxville Opera in recent seasons.

Admission is Free: Seating is Limited.(doors open 1 hour before concert) Please Respect our Sacred Space: No Food/Drink/Gum.

The following Covid-19 protocols are observed:

  1. Face-coverings are required inside the Cathedral at all times.
  2. Non-contact temperature checks may be required at the door.
  3. Screening questionnaire and sign-in for contact-tracing will be required.
  4. Maintain physical distancing between family groups.
  5. Very Limited Seating follows CDC and TN State guidelines for worship .
  6. Public water fountains are disabled on the premises.
  7. Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the Cathedral.
